The 32-bit version, EasyDraw Retro, is still available for $95 directly from the developer's web site. The App Store version of EasyDraw is 64-bit, costs $30, and does NOT import legacy formats such as AppleWorks.
Here is a detailed guide for moving past Appleworks: Mozilla Thunderbird which is still being supported on OS X Snow Leopard and newer versions of OS X. Suggest using the email client in SeaMonkey. As far as I know, only certain versions of EasyDraw can be used to translate them into something more modern. Also, Google is ending support for GMail on older versions of OS X Mail (10.6-10.8), so you may need to search for a new Mail client for OS X Snow Leopard.
